Cpt. Caveman's TTM autographs #11

Hello fellow TTM graphers. I hope everyone had a great week. This week I'm going to talk about another method to obtaining TTM autographs other than by letter. Alot of celebs now have websites or social media pages on facebook and twitter. One way that's worked for us is to find an email address from the celebs webpage and send an email fan mail letter/autograph request. Most sites have a contact page that lists either there fan mail address to write TTM or there agent or managements email address some have comment box's to put your request it. I always send a sincere email or comment and usually ask about a fan mail address I could write to for an autograph but I always add at the bottom a just incase our address is so if they can just send us an autograph they have our address. Alot of times this is all it takes just a nice comment or email asking and they send you an autograph. A few time you get a reply to your email with a fan mail address or a sorry we can't help you but those are usually rare most celebs management or whomever checks there emails are usually helpful and friendly to fans. Another thing we have done is send them a message on there social media page. We have used Facebook and Twitter to obtain autographs or fan mail addresses to write to by sending a fan letter by message the same way as we emailed. I'm going to start listing some email and websites on the Wednesday addresses post so you all can try for autographs without having to send a letter so keep an eye out for those. Now on to our weekly TTM successes. Monday had a return from an amazing actor. Mr. Harry Dean Stanton of such great films like "ALIEN" and "Red Dawn" he signed and personalized two pictures he even double signed one. So happy to add him to my original Alien cast. Lol my cast collection so far only includes Harry and John Hurt but IV wrote the others so hopefully one day I'll get them all. It was over a six month wait for this return but worth it. Saturday brought two RTS ( return to sender) from a newer address for Jamie Farr and Matt Clark but it also had a success from Michael Carbonaro we love his show The Carbonaro effect and it only took 17 days for a return he even wrote us a little note on a separate card thanking us. That's it this week I figured after the amazing week we has last time that the mailbox would be light on autographs this week but no fear I'm adding some of our tested vault addresses at the bottom. Ill b back every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday with new autographs and TTM addresses so until then get writing those letters.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM autograph collecting #10

Hello and welcome back everyone I hope everyone had a great week and got some amazing autographs in the mail. IV been seeing a few authentic replys from Gene Wilder so I was hoping he was back to signing but now it looks like he's finally stopped TTM requests all together for good. He's now sending letters explaining why he's stopped so save your stamps. So this week I'm going to talk about stamps and return postage. Now if your mailing a letter to a celeb in the country you live in then no problem just goto you're local post office and buy stamps, but what if that celeb lives in another part of the world then what do you do? There used to be IRC's or international reply coupons you could purchase from the postal service and then the celeb can use those for return postage but unfortunately they have stopped selling and using them recently here in the US. Now you have to purchase stamps from the country's postal service or trade stamps with another collector. As a last resort I will include several dollars for return postage but I really dont like to do that I figure the least I can do is pay for the postage for my return envelope so I try to find stamps and send cash only if absolutely no other option is available. If you happen to have that country's currency then that's better to send than US $'s but its not likely we all have a bunch of foreign money laying around and a couple US dollars really isn't much good in other post offices around the world. So if you can't find another collector in that part of the world to trade with and I'm sure there's alot of collectors in other countries that need return postage from the US. I'm always looking for others to trade stamps with so if any UK or Canadian collector's need US stamps just comment or send me an email. Im listing links to the sites to buy foreign stamps at the bottom of the post also. For my overseas returns usually one stamp works for a regular white envelope but more may be required for larger envelopes. I also add the tiny blue By Airmail stickers on my return envelope iv obtained those by trading with others and im not sure if royal mail sells them i was told there free at UK post offices so if you email and inquire its possible they will send them when you purchase stamps online. I'm adding a picture for example of a stamp I use for the UK returns at the bottom of the post. So now how about mailing from the US to the UK or Canada. You need a US Global Forever stamp from the post office. There just over $1 a piece and one usually covers postage for our letters and pictures and SASE using a regular white envelope or the smaller mid sized brown manila envelopes. So I hope that helps anyone wanting to try overseas and if all else fails send a few $'s they can donate it to there charities or do whatever they want to do with it, most are pretty good about covering return postage if you can't find it or use the wrong kind by mistake. So now on to the weeks autographs and addresses. Monday I was super shocked to see a fast reply from an amazing musician. After only a 3 week wait Gordon Lightfoot signed and personalized two photos. I really didn't expect a reply at all let alone a fast one but it was a great way to start the new week. Thursday was one of those rare special TTM days first a bumper sticker and a letter from Donald Trumps staff thanking winter for her support, she sent a picture and SASE but they either kept it for maby when he's around or more than likely trashed it lol but no autograph from trump. The other four envelopes (that's right I said 4 lol) were all very good replys starting with the Candyman himself Tony Todd. IV been huge fan since the "Night of the Living dead" remake about 5 week wait and super happy to add him to our collection. Next came a reply from Carol Burnett she's such a lovely funny lady and even signed a photo to my mom and super fast at 16 days. The next one had Winters reply from Caitlyn Jenner in just under a month she's alot faster at replying than Bruce was. We wrote him last year and we are still waiting. The last and final success of the day was from one of our favorite comedians next to the late Robin Williams. Billy Crystal signed and personalized two pictures but oddly enough he signed on the back our pictures, there is one of him in the Princess Bride and one from Soap. Took 34 days to return and still super happy no matter where he signed them at. So that's it for this week I'm glad it picked back up after the week we had the mail box will probably be light on autographs but you never know when an older reply might come in so you just never know. Anyways I hope you all have a great week ill be back every Wednesday and Saturday with addresses and TTM autographs and now every Friday with our new Friday Favorites with some of our favorite autographs from our collection. Until then keep writing and sending those letters, you gotta send it to get it. Happy graphing everyone.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #9

Hello and Welcome back everyone to another great week in TTM autograph collecting. This week I thought I'd talk about Studio Fan Mail. This is a company some celebs choose to handle there fan mail and autograph requests. They send Pre Printed or Autopen signature's only and not authentic hand signed autographs. So if someone you write to happens to return from Studio Fan Mail you know what's up. Now one thing I think there good for is to be used as examples of the celebs signature for comparison to hand signed autographs you may get or someone may be selling one and you can compare signature's plus if you email them at SFM they will send them at no cost to you. So for example you send an email to say timallen@studiofanmail.com just put the celebs name then @studiofanmail.com for the email address. Remember if you do this request only one celeb per email and include your address. If you try more than one celeb per email it will be deleted and you get nothing. Also dont bother writing a fan letter no one reads the emails and it doesn't actually go to the celebs just put your address in the email text. There are alot of blogs and websites that have lists of people who use SFM to fill there requests fanmail.biz has a forum dedicated to it plus they do send really nice pictures and usually takes a month or two to get them in the mail. Now on to the weeks successes It was a slow week for us. Monday brought a reply from DJ Conner himself Michael Fishman. I sent him a message on his social media pages saying how big a fan we were and inquiring about a fan mail address to write to request an autograph and as always on emails and such I add just incase our address is at the bottom of the email or message. Not sure what sites message worked since I sent on both facebook and twitter. Saturday brought a great reply from director Joe Dante some of his great films are "Piranha", "The Howling", "Gremlins", and "The Burbs". We sent him our DVD cover from one of our favorite movies "Explorers" it returned signed in about two weeks. Well that's it this week it was one of those slow weeks that happen from time to time. I'm happy as long as we at least get one back a week but since it was a slow week I'm adding a few address from the vault from our past successes so enjoy good luck and I'll be back every Wednesday and Saturday with new autographs and addresses.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #8

Hello and welcome back everyone to another exciting week in TTM autograph collecting. I hope everyone had a great week I know we did but before we get to that I thought id talk more about what item you want to get autographed. For us I like 4x6 photos because there cheaper to print and easier to store (and I know .32 cents per photo isn't that bad but if your sending 1000+ photos a year it adds up) but we have many non photo items in our collection. Signed cards, albums, posters, CD booklets, DVD or Bluray covers, baseballs and golf balls to signed gloves and hockey masks, index cards, business cards and even on scraps of paper, post cards, comic books, sketches and t-shirts. We started to contact some of our favorite authors to see if we could get them to sign a copy of our book or send us a signed bookplate to add to our collection and signed first edition books are highly collectable and another great item to have autographed. Its really all a matter of choice some people want nothing but signed 8x10's others get everyone to sign baseballs there really is no wrong choice but also remember bigger or awkward sized items are going to cost more in shipping both ways so that's another thing to keep in mind. Some celebs wont sign anything you send them instead they send one of there own photos signed. Some people try to get the autographs of entire casts of certain shows on photos or posters and those are amazing and we even have a Walking Dead cast signed poster autographed by 23 people from conventions but IV always been afraid to send something already signed TTM since IV had some bad luck with the USPS and opened envelopes or totally destroyed envelopes so I'm not that brave yet. Now for in person autographs I'm not picky at all if I happened to run across someone and all i have is a store receipt that's what's getting signed lol but I always keep a few of my blank autograph cards in my wallet just incase. Like I said earlier its all a matter of choice, just collect what you like and what you enjoy and you will grow an amazing collecting that you will love as much as we do ours. So now on to the weeks successes. First Monday brought two successes one TTM from an amazing actor Wes Studi who has been in so many great films like The Last of the Mohicans, Dances with Wolfs, and Geronimo and only a 10 day wait. Next Winter finally got her membership package from the William Shatner international fan club for $24 you get a signed 8x10 of Shatner as Captain Kirk and four news letters a bookmark and membership to a private forum and a members only facebook page, the photo even comes with a COA. Ill add a link at the bottom of the post for those interested but seeing how he sells autographed photos on his website starting at $70 and for what he charges at conventions $24 is a bargain it took five months to get but that's only because they ran out of signed photos and had to wait for Shatner to sign more but most of the time I looks like a month or two wait. Tuesday brought an amazing reply from Barry Gibb of the Bee Gee's. We sent him my trading card of all three brothers from the movie Sgt. Peppers lonely hearts club band and it returned signed in just under five months. IV always loved the there music and Barry's singing and its great to add the last remaining Gibb brother to our collection. Remember if you write him he only signs one item if you send more than one he will sign one and send the rest back with a note explaining why. Well that's is this week ill be back Wednesday with a bunch of working addresses I have found until then happy graphing.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs Wednesday bonus Gameshow/Tv Hosts

Hello and welcome back to the mid week bonus blog This week it will be an all game show/Tv host edition with some of our favorite autographs and the addresses we used. First before we get to those we lost another legend in the horror film industry. Wes Craven passed away this weekend in his home from brain cancer. So sad he pretty much created the teenager slasher genre with his film Last house on the left and raised the bar when he created The Nightmare on elm street series, and dont forget The Hills have eyes and of course the scream movies, he was also amazing to his fans and always a great signer. Winter just got her Nightmare box set DVD cover back signed last month. He will be greatly missed by all. Next week for the Wednesday post I thought id try something different than the theme post. I'm always finding tons of good working addresses that I dont write to because we either are not a fan or more than likely because we can write to only so many each week or that's all we would ever get done so I'm going to start posting other working addresses I find for the week during my address hunting and that way you can have more variety of addresses and celebs to write to. So enjoy and ill be back Saturday with this weeks TTM successes its already been a great TTM week for us and we can't wait to share our new autographs and addresses so until then here's some more of our favorite's and the addresses we used to get them.
